Also known as Milk Thistle, St Mary's Thistle is a herbal remedy that has been used for its detoxification properties. Best known for its ability to protect and regenerate the liver, there have been reports of improvement in liver function amongst people with liver diseases. It's been used for the treatment of jaundice, hepatitis, liver damage, cirrhosis and poisoning.
St Mary's Thistle is also used to minimise the side effects of cancer chemotherapy, to help treat adrenal disorders and to help increase milk supply in nursing mothers.
