Mace Ground
Ground mace is generally used added to a spice mix, it may also be used in baking and in savoury dishes. With a warm, woody taste and aroma, mace definitely adds interest to the dishes in which it is used.
There is some anecdotal evidence of the link between mace and helping to ease digestive issues.
Product of Indonesia
Also known as the outer aril of nutmeg, ground mace is a warm, sweet-pungent spice with a flavour profile sitting between cinnamon and pepper. It is commonly used in béchamel sauce, doughnut batters, Caribbean jerk rubs, Moroccan ras el hanout, Indian biryani, and baked puddings. Graina's Indonesian ground mace comes from the Banda Islands and delivers a more vivid, aromatic result than pre-mixed spice blends — a pinch goes a long way.
