French Lentils - Du Puy
These are a French variety of lentils which originally were grown in a specific region of the country. They have all the health benefits of regular lentils, such as high in protein, fibre, as well as essential vitamins and minerals, but the volcanic earth in which they are grown gives them a unique peppery taste.

Also known as Puy lentils or French green lentils, du Puy lentils are a small, slate-green variety protected by a French AOC designation. They hold their shape during cooking, have a distinctly peppery, earthy flavour, and are higher in iron and fibre than brown lentils. Graina's Australian-grown du Puy lentils are ideal for warm salads, French lentil soups, braises with pork or duck, and as a nutty side for roasted fish or lamb.
